ADVENT

willing to make bows for the décor let Joanne
Streit know.
Advent begins on Sunday November 29. We
will bless our Advent wreath during Mass on
that day.
Online resource for Advent can be found at
DynamicCatholic.org. They are offering a
program called Best Advent Ever.
A parishioner has asked if Mass during Advent
and Christmas could be live streamed again on
Facebook. We are looking into doing that and
will put information on the website and
Facebook.
NEWSLETTERS
When the newsletter was started we did not
think COVID would last this long. We are happy
to continue with the newsletters to help keep
the parish in touch. If, however, you would like
to receive yours electronically we could easily
do that. Please send an email to
jmstreit77@gmail.com and your next
newsletter will be sent that way.

CONCEPTION
NEWS October 2020
PARISH RAFFLE
The parish is planning a raffle to raise money for
the boiler fund. We will begin selling tickets
October 18 and the drawing will be December 6
after Mass. This year we will not have a table at
the Bridgeport Craft Fair since it is canceled.
We will all need to do our best to sell tickets
since this is our only fund raising project. Kathy
Miser has again donated a Fontanini nativity set
and there will be other items that the
committee is in the process of gathering. You
can contact Staci Corder 799-5908, Jenna Botts
868-8767 or Val Morger 750-2866 to either buy
tickets or get tickets to sell. Tickets are $5 for
one or $20 for 5.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Religious education classes for the elementary
students and sacramental preparation will
begin October 11 after Mass. This year the
teachers are Jonna Bogart and Kari O’Hara. The
classes for Middle/High School are still being
planned. The first youth Mass will be
November 4 at 11:00.
PRAYERS
We have many parishioners in need of our
prayers. In these times we don’t always hear
who is in need. When you have someone you
would like to include in our Mass petitions,
please send the name to Fr. Mo or mention it to
Barb McCabe. We do need permission to
mention people by name.
THIS AND THAT
The plump pumpkins and gourds are from the
garden of Linda and Jim Albers. They
generously donated some of their bounty for us
to enjoy as part of our fall altar decorations.
Thank you Linda and Jim.
MINISTRY Now is the time to volunteer to be a
lector, musician, cantor. Everyone has been
most gracious at filling these spots each week,
but there is always room for more. If you would
like to try a ministry, please let us know.
PARISH WEBSITE www.iccfb.org After some
technical difficulties, Jonna Bogart is once again
posting the bulletin to the website. She will
also post the newsletters and pastoral council
minutes.
THANK YOU for continuing to contribute to the
parish financially either by dropping your
envelope in the basket or sending it through the
mail. COVID has put a damper on many things,
but unfortunately bills are not one of those
things.
October is the month of the Rosary.
The DCCW fall conference is going to be virtual
November 21, 2020. We will put the initial
information that was provided on our website.
COMING UP
As fast as September went by we will soon be
thinking of November events. One to keep in
mind is our Book of Remembrance. We will put
the book out the 1 st of November. If you would
like to add a page for a loved one, you can ask
Barb McCabe for a page to make and return. If
you are not coming to the church, send the
name and items you would like included to Joan
Schafer PO Box 791 Fort Benton and she will
take care of it for you.
IMMACULATE
CONCEPTION NEWS
With the restrictions of COVID, we all
have had to make choices with regard to
our own individual health and
circumstances. When “normal” returns
we look forward to seeing everyone in
person at church once again. Until that
time we will try to keep you informed on
our website.
PASTORAL COUNCIL
Beginning August 11 new members
joined the pastoral council and the
council has been reorganized. The
council members are now President
Joe Streit, Vice President Jack Wright,
Secretary Mylo Lane, Jerry Brooke,
Nick Larson, Darlene Pugh, and Staci
Corder. We welcome them and
thank them for their willingness to
serve our parish community. Thank
you to Ken Engellant, Debbie
Kittredge, Jacob Botts, and Kate
Wright for their many contributions
to our parish.
The minutes of meetings can be
viewed on our website page.
The website for the parish is
ROOF AND GUTTER REPAIR
The repair to the gutters and roof and
tree trimming has been completed.
When the work began, it became
apparent the damage was more
extensive than realized and the cost
was more than originally planned
($9317). We applied for and
received an additional grant from the
CATHOLIC FOUNDATION OF EASTERN
MONTANA for $2600. With two
grants from the Foundation ($2000
and $2600), raffle proceeds ($4543)
and an outside donation this project
has been completely funded. We
thank the Catholic Foundation for
their support with this project.
ONGOING INFORMATION
Pforte, LLC, a local commercial
cleaning service has been hired and
has been doing a great job weekly
on the church and restrooms.
Debbie Kittredge is exploring
options for our youth education
programs to fit with the needs of
our families. These may be different
than in the past due to COVID.
The concrete base of the church has
been power washed and readied for
painting. Thank you Kevin Kittredge
and Erich Wellman. Fr. Mo is taking
on the painting project. Thank you.
